Position Summary

The Residential Therapist BHP performs a wide variety of residential program activities. The Residential based therapist will have SMI and addiction as the foundation of care. Develops and implements treatment plans, provides case management services, and performs coordination of clinical care activities.

The Residential Therapist BHP provides clinically appropriate risk assessment and crisis intervention services. Assigned with responsibility to maintain high utilization of time in direct service (DS). Participates in performance improvement activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Master Degree in a behavioral health field.
  • Associate License or Independent License required
  • Willingness to meet client needs outside the box drawing on skills of being flexible and mobile.
  • Protect Client Rights
  • Provide treatment that promotes client dignity, independence, individuality, strengths, privacy and choice.
  • Recognize obvious symptoms of mental disorder, personality disorder or substance abuse.
  • Provide the behavioral health services that the agency is authorized to provide and that the staff member is qualified to provide.
  • Meet the unique needs of the client populations served by the agency or the staff member, such as children, adults age 65 or older individuals who have substance abuse problems, individuals who are seriously mentally ill, or individuals who have a co-occurring disorder.
  • In conjunction with primary care residential nurse, oversees and manages the distribution of pain medication.
  • Organize and oversee group activities, utilizing company protocol to ensure the safety of all participants.
  • Protect and maintain the confidentiality of client records and information.
  • Recognize and respect cultural differences.
  • Select, manage and develop all staff of the residential programs. Hold staff accountable for compliance and culture of the residential programs.
  • Ability to conduct self in professional manner at all times; be cooperative and flexible with team members and management; adhere to ethical professional standards.
  • Ability to performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Have or ability to obtain a Level I Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • AZ driver's license required and maintain and acceptable driving record.
  • Must maintain approved CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Successfully pass background check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Licensure by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Examiners preferred
  • Independent Licensure by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Examiners preferred
  • 2 or more years of full-time, post-Master's, supervised experience in a behavioral health setting
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule a plus - schedules vary
  • CPI Training a plus
