GENERAL SCOPE OF WORK
Under the supervision of the Facilities and Fleet Supervisor, the Facilities Maintenance and Custodial Technician
(FMCT) is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, inspections, and cleaning at all company
properties. This role combines elements of facilities maintenance and custodial services, ensuring that company
buildings, equipment, and vehicles remain in optimal condition.
The FMCT will coordinate repairs, schedule service appointments, conduct safety inspections, and maintain necessary
documentation. Additionally, this position will assist in organizing supplies, responding to maintenance and custodial
requests, and ensuring compliance with safety and infection control standards. In the event of custodial staff absences
due to illness or scheduled PTO, this role will assume cleaning responsibilities to maintain a sanitary and safe
environment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED.
Preferred: 2+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, building repairs, custodial services, or a related field.

Maintenance Responsibilities
7. Conduct routine inspections and perform maintenance on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and
structural components.
8. Handle minor repairs such as painting, carpentry, light electrical work, and plumbing fixes.
9. Assist with the movement, setup, and assembly of furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
10. Perform seasonal property maintenance, including snow/ice removal and landscaping.
11. Inspect and maintain facility equipment, including fans, laundry equipment, and cleaning tools.
12. Conduct maintenance and safety checks on company vehicles, ensuring they are stocked with emergency equipment
and receive timely servicing.
13. Coordinate and document scheduled service and repairs with vendors and internal teams.
14. Assist the Infection Control Coordinator and Safety Officers with Environment of Care (EOC) tasks by identifying and
addressing safety and compliance issues.
15. Follow proper procedures for storing, stocking, and organizing cleaning and maintenance supplies.
Custodial Responsibilities (As needed)
16. Remove trash and ensure proper disposal.
17. Clean and sanitize offices, restrooms, break rooms, and common areas.
18. Respond to spill cleanups and ensure proper sanitation
JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
1. Ability to operate power and hand tools and other types of machinery safely
2. General mechanical skills.
3. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
4. General Knowledge of the principals, practices and methods of cleaning and maintenance.
5. Knowledge of regular maintenance on a vehicle.
6. Ability to monitor facility environment for safety and infection control issues.
7. Knowledge of products and supplies to order.
8. Capacity to work in all weather conditions and perform physical tasks, including bending, stooping, climbing ladders, and reaching.
9. Must be able to work under stress & strict time constraints. 10. Valid driver's license and a safe driving record per company policy.
BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS
Employees of Spectrum Healthcare should be able to: frequently sit for long periods of time, frequently move from
one location to another within the clinic, occasionally carry a minimum of 15 pounds, constantly participate in ordinary conversation,
frequently participate in telephone conversation, be able to speak, read, and write fluently in English, have basic computer skills, have
acuity in near and far vision, work under stress, work under strict time constraints, work under possible emergent situations, prioritize
workload, evaluate personal/professional strengths/weaknesses in handling personal/professional frustrations.
In addition, employees must: be able to obtain a Level 1 fingerprint card, be at least 18 years old. All direct care staff must
maintain current approved CPR/First Aid certifications.
