Position Summary

The Recovery Specialist, under professional supervision, provides recovery-oriented training, outreach, and support services to individuals and groups within the adult SMI program. Encourages clients to pursue recovery-oriented activities both within the agency and the community by modeling a positive frame of mind, hope and self-determination. Assists in advocacy of client needs and rights. Provides living skills training, participates in client consultations. Assists in development and implementation of Behavioral Health Service Plans, coordinates these assignments with case management activities and maintains client progress notes for interventions assigned to them.

The Peer Recovery Specialist position is a part-time, non-exempt, hourly position typically working a schedule that would fall in between Monday through Friday business hours. We have current openings in Prescott, AZ.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Must have completed WRAP and Peer Employment Training or complete both when next training is provided. Be a recipient of mental health services as defined by ADBHS.
  • Ability to interact with clients and staff in a culturally competent manner that takes into account factors such as age, developmental or acquired disabilities, religion and spiritual orientation, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, indigenous heritage, national origin, and gender.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries.
  • Have or ability to obtain a Level I Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Maintain current AZ driver's license with acceptable driving record.
    • If position is required to drive for business reasons, employee must be at least 18 years of age with an acceptable driving record
  • Maintain approved CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Successfully pass background check and drug screen.
  • Microsoft Office/Internet experience and standard computer skills.
