Are you passionate about helping individuals overcome substance use and mental health challenges? Momentum is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Recovery Coach II to join our residential treatment team. In this role, you will provide direct support to residents, promote a safe and structured recovery environment, and serve as a mentor to newer staff members while making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.

What You'll Do

As a Recovery Coach II, you will:

  • Support residents with daily living activities and recovery goals.
  • Build positive, therapeutic relationships with individuals in treatment.
  • Facilitate educational, recreational, and life skills groups.
  • Assist with resident admissions, intake interviews, and treatment planning.
  • Monitor resident behavior, safety, and treatment plan compliance.
  • Provide supportive counseling under clinical supervision.
  • Recognize and respond to behavioral health crises using de-escalation techniques.
  • Coordinate care with internal teams and outside providers.
  • Complete accurate documentation and maintain resident records.
  • Transport residents to appointments and community activities.
  • Assist with medication observation under nursing supervision.
  • Perform vital signs, breathalyzer testing, and urine drug screenings.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic residential environment.
  • Mentor and assist with onboarding new Recovery Coaches.
  • Participate in team meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and ongoing training.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet one of the following:

  • High school diploma or GED plus 4 years of behavioral health experience; or
  • Bachelor's degree in any field plus 3 years of behavioral health experience; or
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field plus 2 years of behavioral health experience; or
  • Completion of a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) training program plus 2 years of behavioral health experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a residential substance use disorder treatment program.
  • Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) certification.
  • Experience with case management or care coordination.
  • Previous mentoring or training experience.
  • Knowledge of recovery-oriented care and 12-Step principles.
  • Experience using electronic health record (EHR/EMR) systems.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
