Since 1965, Spectrum Healthcare has been committed to providing whole-person care throughout Arizona. Our Crisis Response team works alongside law enforcement, first responders, hospitals, and community partners to provide immediate behavioral health support when it's needed most.
What You'll Do
As a Crisis Response Specialist I, you'll respond to behavioral health crises throughout the community and help individuals access the care and resources they need. Every day is different, and every interaction has the potential to change a life.
Responsibilities include:
- Responding to community behavioral health crises in homes, hospitals, schools, emergency departments, and other community locations.
- Conducting crisis assessments, intervention, de-escalation, and safety planning.
- Working closely with law enforcement, first responders, hospitals, and community providers.
- Providing transportation to medically necessary behavioral health services when appropriate.
- Coordinating care and connecting individuals with community resources.
- Completing accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Participating in team meetings, case staffing, and ongoing training.
- Maintaining compliance with state, federal, and organizational standards.
Qualifications
Applicants must meet Behavioral Health Paraprofessional (BHPP) or Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) requirements.
Behavioral Health Paraprofessional (BHPP)
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 6 weeks of behavioral health experience or supervised behavioral health training.
Behavioral Health Technician (BHT)
One of the following:
- High school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of behavioral health experience.
- Bachelor's degree in any field or BHT certification plus behavioral health experience.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a human services-related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Crisis response or mobile crisis experience.
- Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist (CPRSS).
- Knowledge of behavioral health systems and community resources.
- Experience working with individuals experiencing mental health or substance use crises.
Requirements
- Valid Arizona driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
- Comfortable working flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
